# Drywall Repair and Painting | Sharp's Painting

Drywall repair and painting is the work of cutting out damaged wallboard, patching in new board, retaping and retexturing the repair, then priming and painting so the patch blends into the rest of the wall. Sharp's Painting does this work in Huntington Beach and across coastal Orange County. Robert Sharp cuts back to sound material, tapes and muds the seams in coats, sands them flat, and matches the new texture to the old before primer goes on. Doorknob holes, hairline cracks over doorways, and soft spots left by a roof leak get the same treatment. On coastal homes the marine layer and salt air push moisture into walls, so the leak has to be fixed and the wall dry before the patch goes in. Patch over a wet wall and the stain bleeds back through fresh paint. Robert runs his own crew with no subcontractors and is on site, with 27 years of experience and a California C-33 license, number 1048840. Estimates are free.

## Why choose us
- Patched areas get taped, textured, and painted so the repair blends into the wall instead of standing out
- Robert finds and stops the water source behind damaged drywall before he closes the wall back up
- The owner is on every job with his own crew, so the same hands that patch also do the finish paint
- You pay nothing until the work is done and the wall looks right to you

## How it works
1. **Find the cause**: Robert checks each hole, crack, or stain to see if a leak or moisture is behind it, because painting over active water damage only hides it for a season.
2. **Cut and patch**: Damaged drywall comes out, any rotted material behind it gets replaced, and fresh board or filler goes in so the repair sits flush with the wall.
3. **Tape and texture**: Seams get taped and coated, then the new texture is worked to match the surrounding wall so the fix does not show once it dries.
4. **Prime and paint**: The repaired area is primed and painted to blend with the rest of the room, and Robert cleans up the space at the end of the day.

## FAQ
### Can you match the texture on my existing wall?
Yes. Robert works the new texture by hand to match what is already there, whether it is a light knockdown, orange peel, or a smoother coat, so the patch reads as part of the wall.

### There is a water stain on my ceiling. Can you just paint over it?
Not until the leak is handled. Robert finds the source first, replaces any soft or rotted material, then patches and paints, so the stain does not bleed back through the new coat.

### Do I have to pay before the work starts?
No. Sharp's Painting has a standing no payment until the work is done policy, so you see the finished repair before anything is due.

### Do you handle small patch jobs or only big projects?
Both. Robert takes on single holes and cracks as well as larger water damage repairs across Huntington Beach and coastal Orange County, and estimates are free.

### Will I need to move out of the room while you sand the drywall?
No, you do not have to leave the house, but plan to stay out of the room we are sanding until it is cleaned up. Drywall sanding throws a fine dust that travels, so on a Huntington Beach drywall repair and painting job we cover furniture and flooring, mask off the doorway and the vents, and hold the dust in that one room. Clearing small items and wall decor yourself helps. Robert Sharp is on site with his own crew.
