# Commercial Exterior Painting | Sharp's Painting

Commercial exterior painting is the repainting of storefronts, offices, and light commercial buildings, and Sharp's Painting does it across Huntington Beach and coastal Orange County. Owner Robert Sharp has 27 years in the trade, holds California CSLB C-33 license 1048840, and is bonded and general liability insured. He runs his own crew, no subcontractors, and is on site. The crew works Monday through Saturday, 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and is closed Sunday. Salt air and marine fog lift paint off stucco, rust out metal, and rot fascia, so near the water the prep is the job. We pressure wash, scrape and sand, replace rotted wood and fascia, patch stucco cracks, caulk and prime, then spray and back roll so the paint is worked into the surface. Skip the wash or the primer and the new coat peels in sheets. Estimates and up to 10 paint samples are free, and you pay nothing until the job is done and you are satisfied.

## FAQ
### Can you work around our business hours
Usually yes. Sharp's Painting works Monday through Saturday, 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and early starts are normal on exteriors, so most of the work can happen before or after your busiest hours. Tell Robert your hours at the estimate and he will build the schedule around them.

### How long does a commercial exterior take
It depends on the size of the building and how much repair the surfaces need. Robert gives you a realistic schedule with the estimate rather than a guess, and you get an update in the morning and at the end of each day.

### How long will a commercial exterior paint job last on a building near the coast?
On the coast a commercial exterior lasts about as long as the surface under the paint was prepared to last, so that is where we spend the time. Salt air, marine layer moisture and afternoon sun break down coating that was rolled thin over a dirty or chalky wall. In Huntington Beach we pressure wash, scrape, sand, patch stucco cracks and prime bare areas, then spray and back roll so the finish is worked into the wall instead of sitting on top of it.

### What do you do about peeling paint and stucco cracks before you repaint our building?
We fix them before any color goes on. Prep on a commercial exterior includes pressure washing the whole building, scraping and sanding failing paint back to a sound edge, patching stucco cracks, replacing rotted wood and fascia, caulking around windows, doors and trim, then priming what is bare. On coastal buildings in Huntington Beach, if the fascia or trim is soft we replace it, because painting over it only hides the problem.

### Do we have to close the business or clear anything out while you paint?
No, you stay open. A commercial exterior repaint in Huntington Beach happens on the outside of the building, so your doors, entries and parking stay usable while we work. We ask you to pull in outdoor seating, planters, signs and anything sitting against the walls, and we handle masking signage, light fixtures, glass and door hardware. Nothing inside has to be emptied or covered, and we keep spray away from any entrance your customers are using.
